Why does a woman making this statement seem fine, when a man cringes at the thought?

Because it implies a failure of a man to attract a woman enough to get her to sleep with him and to a point that he garners enough satisfaction from it not to even think of porn.

This is why porn will never die and why it grows like the plague in times of greater and greater financial inequality.

Nobody really wants to be alone in a room watching other people have sex, which is also why porn will never be the fix people think it is.

People ultimately seek intimacy with people who can satisfy them. A woman should never feel shame in masturbating, but it is sad that she is alone, because it probably speaks to men and women who aren’t good enough or able to make a connection.

It’s one of the saddest things I know, because it reflects socially maniacal nature.
