We drive a thousand pound metal weapon and we are insulated by the effect. We cannot really know how dangerous it all is until we come to a full stop and via distraction engage another vehicle and God forbid a person. You are a mother, a woman, who it has been wrongly said can multitask. We assume as pedestrians that drivers are following directions, but as you said they can be distracted. Sadly, a life was taken. It’s horrible. What this teaches us, I hope, is to slow down and pay attention, but it also makes me believe in God, and I thank him that this hasn’t happened to me.
