They say there is an exponential difference as time passes, where each year for him is much more damaging than one for you. My girlfriend and I have an 11-year difference. I see your problem. I am falling apart, and she said early on in our relationship that she wanted to take care of me. But my recent illness told me the truth. She doesn't want to be bothered. I completely understand her position and have just let things work themselves out. I know in my heart that I cannot depend on her. I wouldn't want her to take care of me. That's my responsibility as someone who loves and wants the best for her. My job is to make her realize how wonderful she is and ensure she is delighted. I don't plan to stand in her way.
