The other day I was watching a series about people in a contest to see, who could remain in the Alaskan tundra for 100 days. Only one man made it. What I noticed was how hard it was to find food and how much food you needed to survive. That gave me a hint at how difficult it should be for billions of people, who apparently depend on monocultural foods that, like sudden Oak death, can be destroyed in a few years. Imagine poultry in close proximity and other species used for food, like "farmed" salmon, etc. Flesh-eating bacterias are being created and other things that we cannot kill, but will take over our food systems and our environments. It is only a matter of time, also, where in California, for example, the drought will kill off the trees and without trees, there is no water and no way to plant more trees. We are in for a dire time.
