So much of this is projection on the part of the interviewer. He needed you and perhaps the suggestion that you would land on your feet was a submission to the fact that you are standing on your feet. You are intelligent. I think you are whatever the positions call for. You know that.

I see that you are merely wondering why it took you ten years to realize this. I am envious, because my skills are not necessarily marketable. Yours seem to be highly marketable and profitable. I am sorry that the focus today is on middle-aged White males, father-figures who seem to be out of touch. They are condescending. The world is changing and they are no longer relevant. They don't own the building. The carpet is being pulled. Yeah, it's probably a learned behavior not to validate the men in the position you are, simply because men understand each other. Women, on the other hand, are not so easily understood. And those women in power knew what you were capable of and knew your thoughts, perhaps, more than the men did. Nobody holds power over you. My saying this is of no use, it's pathetic. Yes, you don't need to be bashful, nor bashing. You came to this forum to communicate. Why can't we accept each other? I get it. I don't matter.
