Regarding Gavin Newsom’s Recall. I have heard that the reason they don’t like Newsom is because he cheated on his wife and he claims not to have come from money. I am sure that they also don’t like his posture on COVID, which cost them money. “Supporters of the recall have raised approximately $5.4 million and opponents have raised about $48.2 million,” (Kimelman).

“Top pro-recall contributors:

PROV 3:9, LLC

$500,000

MIKE HUCKABEE PAC

$225,000

GEOFF PALMER

$200,000

BOYETT PETROLEUM

$198,000

CALIFORNIA REPUBLICAN PARTY

$187,218

THE LINCOLN CLUB OF ORANGE COUNTY

$179,500

CALIFORNIA REVIVAL PAC

$162,000

DGB RANCH

$150,000

CAROL DOLL

$124,000

DIXON DOLL

$124,000,” (Ibid.)

Proponents of the recall state that Newsom implemented laws that are detrimental to the citizens of the state, according to Contra Costa County Voter information. Those laws favor illegal foreign nationals over California citizens. We have the highest taxes. Highest homeless rates, and lowest quality of life. He has imposed sanctuary status and does not enforce immigration laws. He has gone against the will of the people regarding the death penalty. He wants to remove the protections of Prop 13, ration water use, increase taxes and restrict parental rights.

In my mind, these Republicans are hypocritical to take offense in Newsom’s cheating on his wife, where Trump, for example, paid a prostitute $130,000 to sleep with him while he was married, and he fought to keep that information off the record. Secondly, whether he came from money or not is neither here nor there. As far as I can tell, he is doing a great job.

Newsom has done a better job than I ever could regarding COVID. I am fully in support of his alliance with medical professionals.
