…’m entirely entitled to expect people to be solidly accountable for how they handle their feelings. “Not my circus, not my monkeys” might sound aloof, but the paradox is, when you truly internalize the fact that others’ emotional labor is not your job, you feel safe enough to take down your walls… and the freedom of that open space lets incredible connections in.
