My experience coincides with hers. It comes as a response and is therefore secondary, inferior. It owes its remembrance to her and therefore seems to need to reside as a footnote, but I can write it. But, can you not see how that would also take away from the original and lay it to waste, or even cause one to question me as you have done? My relationship to Ms. Martinez at this point is to align with her, to share something and find two different endings, and really no ending for either party. At this point Ms. Martinez’ story is brilliantly posed; it caused my catharsis. I went into myself and that memory was released. It produced an ekphrastic response as a mere comment. I am mainly speaking to her. Who reads comments anyway? It doesn’t matter that there is another angle or take because the point of writing is to get to the truth. This is what makes Medium so fun or powerful. But, perhaps this second view should have its own building. I had preferred to merely construct another window because I thought the hotel was already perfect. And I was/am in agreement with her. I wish I had gone to her party, but probably not. The one I missed was greater than I could have ever imagined, but thank you for the encouragement. Perhaps it is time to spread my wings.
