I would like to suggest an easy regimen of running to offset any question about how much to eat. I am a 60 year-old man, who runs about four miles almost every other day. Sometimes, I go hiking in addition in the hills (say 1000–2000 feet high), or ride my bike, six or 13 miles. I can eat anything I want, but I usually want what’s good for me. You attack diet by creating appetite. A box of doughnuts is the last thing I want. I dream of fresh fruit and vegetables and a lean piece of chicken or fish.
