I talked to two women, who agreed with me:
O: “It isn’t my experience. The woman has an eating disorder. That’s different… When you workout you want to eat healthy food. That’s the healthy response.”
E: “I agree with O, you usually crave healthy foods afterwards.”
So, as far as I can tell, the eating disorder is another thing entirely. Because I may want to help women lose weight, this may be a problem for me. I have read that it is five times harder for a woman to loose weight than a man, although I am wondering about the factor of genetics. My father was an obese man. My mother was not. I am not, but I have his heart, and the problems he had. I am told, I cannot be skinnier, although I have belly fat I cannot seem to lose, I think, it is due to my smoothies, which make me bloated. Also, I have basically been this weight my entire life. I have a physical job and I have always exercised. Today, I should/will run 4 miles.
Back to my initial thrust, I think if women just run they wouldn’t have to worry about weight, or, in time, eating habits.
As a mother, I hope you have time to do these things for yourself. I know how amazing you are. I watched my mother my entire life. She was dedicated to us, and I feel she sacrificed herself. You cannot do that. At a certain age, we can take care of ourselves. We want you to be your best, happiest. Screw the body image. Go for the endorphins. Enjoy the run, not the worry.
