I just wanted to selfishly include a link to a piano solo I did not too long ago called "Lake Merritt." Hopefully, I am not pissing anyone off by doing this. I am a frequent visitor to the lake. I often play music along its edges. I love the lake because it is a mecca of various types of peoples, ethnicities, cultures. It, and the area, literally enlivens me spiritually. I drive from Walnut Creek just to be with the people, who frequent it. I usually run around it via the bike lane twice if I am not playing and singing. It is a gorgeous place. And yes, it is really dirty. I used the public restroom once and the urninal was filled with human feces and trash. The floor was at least an inch deep in urine and probably water, but I don't even want to say. There are homeless all around the lake too. Lake Merritt reminds me of what the dream of America can be, at least in terms of the people and how everyone gets along. I forgot to mention the druggies and the groups of people, who ride in masse, who race doing wheelies on motorcycles. It's very diverse and so far I have never had any trouble, except around the time of the BLM marches, when Black man stared me down: I am a bald, white man. Anyway, here is that link to the music. I hope you like it. I created it with love and soul: https://savioni.wordpress.com/2020/12/13/lake-merritt-a-piano-solo-by-mario-savioni/
