I have never used Scrivener only Word or Pages. I finally wrote a piece that I found satisfied me. The process involved writing what I thought and then going back to it day after day. Month after month. I finally weeded out all the things I thought were wrong. You see for me it’s not about what I say so much as how. At least, that’s what I like about reading. Grammerly was another program I liked except it seemed to own my writing keeping it in a cloud or something and I can’t remember exactly what turned me off but I couldn’t seem to move sections around. There also seemed like a lack of privacy. WordPress is another block based device that is frustrating me to no end. And Medium won’t let me select all after I have published it. You have to do that before. At a point, I just get frustrated because the thoughts get usurped by the interfaces. Word get rejected by Apple. Pages get rejected by whoever. Things like Scrivener require updates that don’t work with Apple, I would think. I recently ordered an Indiegogo product that was supposed to keep you from getting distracted, but I think I ordered it years ago and it still hasn’t come and then this tariff thing. It will screw everything because I already paid for it. That whole idea is off the table. I hate waiting for something I used to have. It’s just a free writing tool anyway and I think they haven’t been using computers as long as I have. They are pining for simplicity. At this point, I write things and then send them to myself via email. If I go back to them great, but I am really just getting overwhelmed by the technology, the remodel of my condo, my job that keeps me in fight or flight mode. Who has time to think about Word processors? Who writes more than a select and respond interface allows?
