I find this method highly effective, but the threat of losing their livelihoods and fear itself is what drove them in the first place. Now, they will be suicidally radicalized. I think we need to go deeper. I believe that the effects of our ghost town cities and the lack of jobs even after months and months of COVID vaccinations will provide a much larger battlefield and reason, as it seemed sorely missing at the Capitol, will have a face no more welcoming than a full-out civil war. Underlying everything related to what is happening is incompetence and the resultant fear of not being able to cope. People aren't happy, especially with themselves. Economic hardship is coming and they don't know how to adapt. Why do they think they need to bring guns? Who are they going to shoot? The enemy is within, but it is also environmental. We, as a country, have to begin to address real fears and help people to thrive, not barely survive, or to not survive at all. This has to be done on a case-by-case basis. It may be too late. It feels like battle lines are being drawn in the sand.
