I can’t speak for you, but in my experience, I have loved four people to a kind of depth that bordered on addiction, painful joy, profound, unbroken love, OK infatuation. They were my “type,” but they didn’t feel the same way. That’s the only reason we failed. That’s the only reason I am still single, but I am hoping for that kind of “love,” or else I prefer to be single.
