COVID got people to question going in, so now location matters less. Anyone from anywhere can do a lot of the jobs out there since they are based on computers. Owners consider overhead and also loyalty and secrecy. I am sure they are working on that or simply kissing it goodbye. Then there are programs or companies that provide services, like punching in and out, and determining vacation and sick leave. People aren't getting a good education because they can't afford it, so people from other countries with J-1 and the like VISAs come in and do the work for much less and have worked longer hours, some 14-hours a day. The bottom line is cost. This has been going on for years. Capitalism means working harder and faster. The spoils and the jobs go to those who submit to the capitalistic rules/structure.
