Can you be in love with two people at once? — Battle Hymn of the Incels
This question is a personal question, and as such becomes ridiculous. If you can or cannot love two people at once, this is something you should know. It is the same as asking if you got up and had oatmeal for breakfast. If you don’t know then nobody knows.
The question begs the question as to what someone should do: Love one person or many; which is a moral question, of course, or at least it begs the question as to there being some moral stake.
Frankly, I don’t care if you can love more than one person at the same time. I don’t have anyone to love. I would be happy being in love and loved by one person. I am not greedy. I don’t need to prove anything.
Thus, again, the question begs the question as to the point of asking it. It isn’t really a question at all but a brag or an attempt to persuade in the acceptance of the implied point, which is “I am loving many people; it should be OK to do.”
It bogles the mind. Polyamorists are always seeking legitimacy and normalcy, but to those of us, who are lucky to find one person for whatever reason, see the issue as one, simply, of opportunity.
If I could maintain one relationship with someone I had a crush on, then that would be enough. Just getting through one night at work is…
