As a waiter in the Bay Area, I find the article to be immature. While it may address the high cost of living, to then move to consuming waiters themselves, does not address the problem customers face in not having them. Who serves the waiters to the customers? Thus, if you think you are going to be funny, at least get your logic correct. The insult is self-referential.
