Agreed here too. The key, as far as I can tell, is nothing on surfaces so that it soothes you psychologically and is easy to clean. There is nothing I want to show off, but when you open my cabinets, you will see that I painted the insides with the same high gloss white as the frames of the cabinets and the doors are all light natural wood with a water seal.
